In the action, Palomino stated that he had B2B Lead agreed with Ronaldo's manager that he would help in the search for sponsorship. Corinthians' main signing in 2009, Ronaldo became the club's poster boy, taking part of the sponsorship deals. In the agreement signed with Palomino, it was agreed that he would receive 10% if the deal was completed. According to him, to be entitled to this percentage, it would be enough to provide the company's contact details, as the negotiation would be carried out directly by the club.
The contract was signed in 2009 and extended for the following years. Palomino, however, received nothing for his work. Therefore, represented by lawyer José Edgard Galvão Machado , he filed a collection action.
In the first instance, the club and the player were ordered to pay 10%. The decision was upheld by the 27th Private Law Chamber of the São Paulo Court of Justice. Based mainly on emails exchanged between the parties, the rapporteur, judge Mourão Neto, understood that Palomino was able to prove that he worked to obtain sponsorship and that he had agreed with the club and the player that he would receive 10% of the contract value .
Although Ronaldo denied that his manager had permission to negotiate on his behalf, the rapporteur explained that the documentary evidence presented proves that he had these powers. Among the evidence are several reports in which the businessman speaks on behalf of Ronaldo and which, according to the judge, were never questioned.
